On faith
The last few years have been a wrestle with my faith. In the midst of global turmoil, I started asking the question, “who benefits from Christianity?” And that question has taken me on quite the journey, a journey I am very much still on.
I have no answers or clear decisions from the wrestling, but I have come to the conclusion of a couple of filters I strive to view my faith through.
The first is the question that kicked it all off - who benefits from this? This religion, this belief, this stance, etc. Does this align with what I know of the Divine?
The second is, what would I rather be wrong about? Or what is the impact if I am wrong?
So right now, these are my guiding questions. There is no certainty in these questions or the conclusions they bring, which will frustrate some. This is my effort to do my best though.
In the midst of the noise and conflicting views, these filters have been a lighthouse.
