On just doing to do
I was happily pedalling along on the rail trail when three spandex speedsters blew by me on their handmade carbon bikes.
For a moment, I was disheartened. What’s the point–they’re speedy, I’m not.
Then I realize that it’s not a bike race, it’s a bike ride. There is no winning, just the riding.

I don’t have much more to say. Not every bike ride is about winning. Not everything you do is about being the best. Sometimes, often, the act of doing is enough.
What areas of your life may this be resourceful to apply to? Where are you so focused on winning that it is taking the fun out of just doing it?
